A one-of-a-kind olive oil...
The Lantzanakis family has been
growing organic extra virgin olive oil since 1995 on their
estate in Sitia, Crete.
The olive trees, from which this oil is
produced, are family property over generations. The family
estate is located in the region of the mountainous village Krya.
The olives are organically and biodynamicly cultivated with
natural and traditional methods under the control of DIO
(Certification & Inspection Organisation of Organic Products).
The olives are collected by hand and
mechanical means and immediately cold pressed according to
modern procedures and professionally bottled at the family’s
packing station. The fact that the olives are deriving from a
single estate and from unique olive tree species makes this oil
one-of-a-kind.
Sitia belongs to one of the few regions
that have received the EU quality certification (P.D.O. -
Protected Designation of Origin). Olive Oil Sitia P.D.O. defines
the special and unique quality attributes (color, flavor, aroma)
of the olive oil produced in Sitia which has repeatedly been
awarded in international competitions.
